Lol.

Thanks!

One more approach left, then I'll start on the studies inshallah! :)

Ukhti-R:
6. INDIVIDUAL DIFFERENCES

Assumption of the approach: All pther approaches look at what people have in common. Individual differences looks at the small differences that makes us different. This approach tries to understand what is "normal" and "abnormal"

How the approach explains Rosenham's Study: Rosenhan shows there is no reliable definition of schizophrenia. His findings were that all the pseudopatients were admitted with the diagnosis of schizophrenia despite having only one symptom, hearing voices, and they were kept in hospital even after th symptom had disappeared. This suggests that there are no clear differences between those who are "sane" and those who are "insane".

How the approach explains Thigpen and Cleckly's Study: T&C show how it is possible to measure and analyse psychological variables that allow reliable diagnosis of Multiple Personality Disorder to be made. Their case study approach showed how MPD sufferers are different to normal people. In their case, the two Eve's differed on terms of IQ scores, brain electricity, emotional repression, and understanding of their past experience. T&C also showed that abnormality is real and causes real harm to those who suffer from it.

How the approach explains Griffiths Study: Griffiths shows how gamblers are different from other people. They think differently and only have cognitive bias. Griffiths showed this by using quantitative measures about the way gamblers use irrational verbalisation and interpreting luck as skill. This again shows abnormality is real.

Ukhti-R:
For whoever is studying the same board, I wish you the best of luck.

Hope I helped! (:

Monica:
Awesome!  :D

You don't usually find notes for this subject and many students asked about it, now it is available.

Thanks Roxy, +rep. <3
