CHEMISTRY P4 APPLICATION CIE MAY JUNE 2010
« on: June 04, 2010, 02:38:36 pm »
Application-- Seems like some of these are not included in the syllabus.. like x ray crystallography.. they never appeared before..
So whats actually needed and whats not..

Im not sure if it has come before or not. But if its in the syllabus, it CAN come. Thats the problem. New things tend to pop up and surprise candidates at times and they lose marks. And quite frankly, the syllabus is too damn long in chemistry to do all of it.  :-\
In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. But in practice, there is.

Im gonna bet. Cause if you Study ALL.. you are not focused on basics..
Just devote 60% of time to CIE book
30% to application
10% past paper..

Well.. Im finishing my A level exams this wed.. Just gonna give it my all for the last p4  ;) ;) ;) ;) ;)

focusing on basics is absoulutely meaningless if your application of the basics are useless. cause chem unlike ANY subject especially at a higher level like A LEVEL does not require much memorize its through understanding that one can apply chemistry in the papers.

although please dont get me wrong, a firm grasp on the basics us essential to even do the paper .

i suggest doing papers , its the only way to prepare applying and of course evaluation after . but this is purely my opinion
on the other hand,  in terms of application , it is true that there isnt much about it , i suggest just knowing an overview such as advantage disadvantage . what and why you do it . would be sufficient.
