Hey Ammonia question please help

(1/1)

lxxxphysixxxl:
Hey

so i was looking at an Ammonia question in a past paper and realised i was really confused about something:

What are the products of

NH3   +   H2SO4

PLease include wether or not water is part of the products or not?

nid404:
2NH3+H2SO4--->(NH4)2SO4

that's that ;)

holtadit:
This is a simple chem reaction. If you remeber in IGCSE you were thought ammonia plus HCl forms a white powder called Ammonium Chloride. This is the same thing except the final product is Ammonium Sulphate :)

hey thanks guys

i was confused for a second cause my teacher told me that alkalies plus acid make salt plus water.

and thats true

its just NH3 was an alkali and i forgot if it produced water with acid. As this is a neutralisation reaction.
