NightHawkerr:
So how much do we need to get (Paper 1, 3 6 combined) for physics and chemistry to get an A* ?
The minimum grade out of 180 to get an A* would be...?

it would not hav minimum, i think we will hav to score high in all 3 variant
Paper 1 - 34/40
Paper 3 - 40-58/80
Paper 6 - 32-36/40

hey these are just estimates and they do not mean that they are the perfect marks required. for getting an A* we also need to keep concentration on drawings and presentation NOT only marks. hoping to get an A*  :)

I have a question, say for instance if I attained a considerably high score in Paper 3, but did not reach the minimum grade threshold for an A in Paper 1, would I still be able to attain an A / A* ?
