So basically for example what if you screwed up on one paper, lets say paper 6 and did not meet the minimum requirement for an A on that paper but did well on papers 1 and 3 and did meet the minimum requirement for an A on that paper. Then what you guyz are saying is that an A is still definitely possible right????????????? It's about the OVERALL percentage in all 3 papers combined right.

Just wanted to know cuz for last years Math 0580 papers one of my friends got a 77 and it said a B on his certificate but if you look at the grade thresholds for May-June 2009, then they are way lower than 77 so how is that possible??????

Normally, you'll only know what grade you got, and not mark you got.  By the sound of it, CIE introduced a new system of grading so 90% UMS was an A*, and 80% was an A, and 70% was a B, and so on.

its about overall.
91 - 100%                  A*
81 - 90%                   A
71 - 80%                   B
61 - 70%                   C

and so on......................
