How many years does it take a student to do a bachelor's degree in oncology (study of cancer)?

My dad's a hematologist.

Well, you do your MBBS, your house job (internship), then residency and then sub-specialisation into Hematology/Oncology. In your case, Oncology.

My dad's the director of the hematology oncology subspecialty program at his hospital; so I have an idea but I am not 100% sure.

I want to be a hematologist or a cardiac surgeon when I grow up. :)

Thanks, wish you best of luck with evth.

Where are you right now?

I may go to Canada (but 8 years = :X) / UAE / Australia? / stay in KSA orr last resort, Pakistan.

Exactly!
that's what I'm thinking abt... studying sth like hematologist, cardiac surgeon or oncology will definitely take a loooong time before being a specialist...

I'm thinking abt the UK... not sure tho...

UK? lol.

I thought about that earlier, but nahh. It is too bloody expensive, even with scholarships. The clinical side gets more expensive every year. I do not recommend UK for medicine, unless ofcourse you have quite a large budget.

I am thinking of UAE now, i have no idea though. My sister is still pushing on Canada but 8 years for just medicine is just retarded imo.

Like I said, I am still confused. :S

yeah. I know :) When I posed the idea of studying from Malaysia's Monash uni instead of Australia's one to my parents, they suggested that a degree from "Australia" is more valuable/prestigious. Do you people believe in such "myths" ? ::)

I don't. The university is one of the top rankings full stop. The campus shouldn't matter
