What are the structural feautures for phloem that enable it to perform its function
What are the strucural features for xylem that enable it to perform its function
THANK YOU SO MUCH.
Phloem: 1) has a large lumen with peripheral cytoplasm allowing more space for assimalates ( sucrose or amino acids)
2) have seive pores which allow the continious flow of assimilates
3) connected with the companion cell through plasmodesmata allowing loading and unloading
Xylem: 1) no cell organelles allowing more space for water movement
2) no end walls allowing cotinious flow of water
3) formed of fine walls which allow the adhesion (attraction of water to xylem walls) of water molecules onto the xylem ( capilliary action)
4) lignified walls o impermeable to water
hope this helped...
