A QUICK YES OR NO QUESTION. EDEXCEL CHEMISTRY AS
coatseville:
Basically every paper is similar you should review everything but if you dont have time you MUST make sure you know
1) Analysis
2) Moles & titration calculations
3) Alcohols, Ketones and Aldehydes
4) How to draw and use reflux, distillation, titration
5) preparing a standard solution
Hope that helps!

Thanks all for your help.
But you're saying I need to know how to prepare a standard solution. Should I know ALL the details. If so, can you jot them down here.
Thanks again mate.
coatseville:
Okay so for the analysis you know that you need to know cations, anions, some organic and gas tests.. thats really important.
For a standard solution:-
1) calc. the mass of the solid need to make the solution of the required conc. (ie use the equation..)
2) Measure out the mass using a top pan balance
3) tip contents of mass into a beaker - and wash the apparatus tht u used to record the mass with distilled water (ensure complete transfer of mass)
4) Add a small vol. of distilled water (approx 50cm3 if prep of a 250 cm3 solution) & mix using a glass rod until all solid dissolved (may require heating)
5) Pour solution into a standard flask - wash apparatus used (ie glass rod) with water also and put washings into flask.
6) Continue adding distilled water to the solution until it is level with the bottom of the meniscus on flask.
7) Stopper the flask and mix/shake.
Hope this helps!

Thanks a lot.
