2)How will a candidate be given the grades as the grade threshold doesn't specify for A*,B, and E?

3)How many examiners will check one candidates paper?

4)If one wants to give the papers for re checking then what is the procedure...??

5)For the exams, the invigilators going to come from CIE or from school????????? If the ans is school then doesnt the CIE think that the tutors can be injust to students?or students can copy easily??????????????

i actually had the same qs... i know coursework and french orals etc are internally assessed and then a few students' samples are sent to CIE to be moderated. i think the rest are sent to CIE directly.

thresholds are actually different every year depending on how difficult the paper was and the marking curve. B lies between A and C while E lies between the thresholds of D and F
hope that helps

According to what I know:
1) Most exam papers are sent to CIE directly. French oral or other foreign language oral as well as coursework will be assessed by school's teachers and only send some samples to CIE for clarification.

2) Grade thresholds are specified when all the papers have been marked. The grade thresholds published don't usually specify A*, as A* will be the top 10% of the subject, which varies years after years. The general grade for A* is either more than 85% or more than 90%.

3) Your papers will be marked by 3 or 4 examiners.

4) If you want your papers to be re-marked, this is quite complicated. I just heard that it's gonna be fairly expensive. If you want to re-take the exams, then apply for the October November session.

5) It depends on CIE whether the invigilators will be from schools or CIE. CIE normally directs invigilators to come to your school when they feel like it. Most of the time, they'll be from your schools though. But in 2008, there were 4 invigilators from CIE came to my school to invigilate Additional Maths & Economics exams. About the papers, I don't think the teachers are allowed to look at the papers in advanced (but ICT practicals and foreign language orals, the teachers are allowed to open and have a look at it before the exams). Exam papers are delivered to your schools 1 week before the exams start but are kept in the exam officer's office of your school.

Hope it helps ;)
