+rep means reputation. If you get +repped your reputation gets higher and if you get -repped it gets lower.  You will find your reputation power there under the number of posts.

You can +rep/-rep someone by clicking on the blue heart under your display picture, there you can also add a comment which might be later viewed in your reputation page. Open your profile and in the right side you will see the reputation page.

Now I will +rep you and you can check your reputation page to get an idea.

You can't change display name color. Mine is green because I am an admin, mods get red color and member of the month orange. Normal members blue and banned members black.

Reputation doesn't usually increase by 4, it only does when very high reputation members +rep you. Just increases by 1 normally.
