--- Quote from: A@di on May 18, 2010, 12:37:01 pm ---gotta find the determinant first = 5t^2 -6t

thus the inverse...

(5t/5t^2-6t    -6/5t^2-6t)   = (-5t 6)
(-t/5t^2-6t      t/5t^2-6t)      (t  -t)

that means 5t/5t^2-6t = -5t

therefore, 5t^2-6t = -1

-5t^2 + 6t = 1

-5t^2 + 6t -1 = 0

t = 1/5,1

--- End quote ---

2c) multiply the matrices --> (x^2 + 10) = kx

x^2 + 10  - kx =0

x^2 + 8x + 10 = 0

compare the co-efficients of x..

-k = 8

k = -8
