Mullay.
x^2 + 4x - 8
= x(x +4) -8
=x(x + 4 + (4/2)^2 - (4/2)^2) - 8 [Completing square method applied]
=x(x + 4 + (2)^2) -(2)^2 -8
=x(x + 2)^2 -4 -8
=x(x + 2)^2 - 12
So, (x + p)^2 + q
Therefore, p=2, q=-12.
:)

Shaz 1 final thing say if I take the coefficient of x to 5, then it'll p=2.5 and q= -14.25 right????
By the way, SAR right guess ;D.
