There is only one conclusion. There is no general hard-and-fast rule for probability. Sometimes you have to add, sometimes multiply, sometimes 1-(). It depends on the Question. And there is no explanation to why. So, basically, it's all screwed.

Addition is where there in no "Second Chance" lik pick up a coloured ball keep it back and pick another ball
Multiplication is where there is "more than one change" pick up a ball note colour pick up another ball (without replacing) note .. here the numerator and denominator of the second chance will decrease by one as u hav one ball in hand
Subraction is basically a "shortcut" .. like 1-1/10 or something .. solve maj/june 2009 paper 4 prob. ques it has subtraction P.S there is always an alternative method to a subtraction dont understand .. solve jun 2009

the 3 inequalities are y>=x so y-x>=0.....y+x<=12 as total time working is less than 12......x>=4 as he spends at least 4 hours cleaning cars

4, 12, 24, 40...........
how do u find the nth term?
--- End quote ---
u would use this method
a+(n-1)d+0.5(n-1)(n-2)c
4+(n-1)4+0.5(n-1)(n-2)4
and good l luck simplifying :)
