Emotions Suggestion
« on: April 16, 2010, 01:02:54 pm »
I got a new idea for emotions..
i dont know if its possible or not....

but let me tell the idea...

first we have a library of custom emotions (SF need not put a single emotion at all)... only members upload pics n emotions...
then we can have another thing called collection -- members can add emotions from library into their collection, so they can use them....

and if a user puts a emotion in posts, everyone should be able to see it  (no matter if any other user has it in their collection or not)..

RATE suggestion please
and also tell me the possibility if this can be done or not :P

We can add emotions easily, but I am not sure about the library and collection thing.

It can't be done:

1. If a user uses an 'emoticon' all they have done is used an image... it's not necessarily an emoticon they may have uploaded. A computer cannot tell the difference between images easily.

2. I tried some time ago to upload a lot of emoticons to the server we use, but I was told that because of security issues, the area where I should upload images of emoticons was secure and thus I could not access it. Until this no access restriction is removed, we cannot have any more emoticons I believe.

He did it differently - he had to upload them individually using the forum software - it takes a fair few minutes to do each emoticon and I think only admins can do it...
