Denmark Cartoonist, was he right or wrong?
ExamPapersGeek:
I believe we all know what has happened about the denmark cartoonist, if you don't remember or don't know you can go read it at this link:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/7242258.stm
so the question is: do you think what the danish newspapers have done was right? do you think freedom of speech will go as far as to insult lots of other countries?
ExamPapersGeek:
he definitely was wrong, freedom of speech doesn't mean he has the right to make fun of muslims, freedom of speech is only for their own rights, but why insult islam? i think freedom of speech shouldn't go this far.
the punishment for the cartoonist should be decided by the government, and i think it should be severe.
Lord Crz:
I also think he's wrong. true that he did it as to show freedom of speech and all the crap, still he has no right insulting other people and their religion.
i don't think any christians or jews will be pleased in Denmark if a muslim guy started making fun of them.
omega007:
Denmark is absoutely wrong with what it has done.
It's really very bad to play with others' emotions and feelings (especially with religious beliefs).
I agree with ExBull with the fact that what would be the feelings of christians and jews if muslims treated jews or christians like this.
In fact, there should be no religious clashes in this world (although this cannot be avoided totally).
It is right for the muslim countries to ban trade of Danish products as Denmark has done a wrong thing.
The cartoonist(s) should be put to exile or given harsh punishments or the Danish government must ask for forgiveness to ease the anger of the muslims otherwise Denmark may be seriously affected through its international position in the near future.
If this is not done, then the world will think that the Danish govt. is also involved to some extent.
master786:
