Help me to find the overall reaction of these two equations:

Cr₂^2-O₇+14H⁺+6e^------>2Cr³⁺+7H₂O

and

CH₃CH₂OH---->CH₃COOH+4H⁺+4e^-

Cr₂O₇ ^2- + 14H⁺+6e^----->2Cr³⁺+7H₂O

&

CH₃CH₂OH + H₂O
---->CH₃COOH+4H⁺+4e^-

First step you make the no of electrons equal

6 and 4...1st common multiple is 12....multiply the 1st eqn by 2 and second by 3
Cr₂O₇ ^2- + 14H⁺+6e^----->2Cr³⁺+7H₂O X2
2Cr₂O₇ ^2- + 28H⁺+12e^----->4Cr³⁺+14H₂O

CH₃CH₂OH+H₂O---->CH₃COOH+4H⁺+4e^-  X3
3CH₃CH₂OH+3H₂O---->3CH₃COOH+12H⁺+12e^-

Now add the 2 eqn
U get
2Cr₂O₇ ^2- + 28H⁺+12e^-+3CH₃CH₂OH+3H₂O------------>4Cr³⁺+14H₂O+3CH₃COOH+12H⁺+12e^-

2Cr₂O₇ ^2- + 28H⁺+12e^-+3CH₃CH₂OH+3H₂O------------>4Cr³⁺+14H₂O+3CH₃COOH+12H⁺+12e^-
Cancel the like terms

2Cr₂O₇ ^2-+(28-12)H⁺+3CH₃CH₂OH----->4Cr³⁺+(14-3)H₂O+3CH₃COOH

So finally
2Cr₂O₇ ^2-+16H⁺+3CH₃CH₂OH----->4Cr³⁺+11H₂O+3CH₃COOH
