iGCSE or O'level maths?
Saladin:
yes, but when you do A level, make sure that you take Edexcel, because there is an alternative-to-practical. In Cambridge there isnt.
tabath:
Thanks for your replies, will probably look at taking Cambridge then as she wants to go on to do a'level, and it seems the consensus is that iGCSE is preferred for whatever reason. Anyone suggest the best text book to use for the cmabridge iGCSE?
Saladin:
IGCSE Mathematics by Dr. David Rayner.
The best book in the world for IGCSE Mathematics for practice. But this is not good if you want to learn it from scratch, like the explanations are not that good.
So if you have a tutor, then the one I suggested, other than that, there are few good alternative.
tabath:
Yeah thanks, well i have a maths degree so will be tutoring her myself, just wanted to be sure we had a text book that contains all the curriculum and was well thought of.
tabath:
Doesn't taht raynor book just cover the Core which means ony taking 2 exams and being able to get upto grade c or is there a version that covers all the syllabus? If so whats it called?
