position of ship t hours after 1200 is 11i+17j+5(t-2)j
e) due east mean the j components are the same
ie 23=17+5(t-2)
5(t-2)=6
t-2=1.2 hours
t=3.2 hours=3 hours 12 mins after 12 ie 1512
