What is IB

My cousin plan to study his pre-uni study and his option is A level or IB (Diploma)
So, can anyone explain it about the course duration, subjects combination, assements, exam session (months) and grade for the exam.

IB has many diplomas. Most probably you are toalking about the higher year diploma. So in this diploma, you have to chose more a 'group of subjects' like sciences, business etc. It is pretty much the same as A level its just that this is not a british qualification, but Sweedish/Canadian/American one. It is far more practical, as in there is more field work and more science experiments. More info can be found on webpage that Q80 talked about.

IBDP means International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme.Other words internaional highschool diploma programme.
Its a 2 yr course .where student is asked to take 6 subject out of which english n math is compulsory the rest is divided in groups
Language,philosophy etc.student take 3 HL n 3SL  .
apart from subject u also take EE extended essay where u choose a topic choose a question(make one by urslef) do a research on it say baout 40 hours of research n write an essayabout 4000 word.apart 4m that u also do ToK theory of Knowledge. and lastly CAS hours which is creativitry action n servie hours
