corrected exam papers

The_Last_Dragon:
Hi guys!

as you know, after correcting the exam papers of any board exam
the result mark is just taken from them, but the corrected exam papers are not returned to the student

can anyone tell me, why this is so?

the student can understand he/her's errors by reading the examiner's doubts and improve, right?

also, if the exam papers are never returned to the student, what happens to them?

this forum is one of the most active, which i've seen, but this topic seems to bring no answers....does a nod like astro know, or does no one know the answer?

um im not exactly sure y they dont return the papers.....maybe astar or someone else knows.....but i think they keep the papers for a few years and then burn them or something :P

Saladin:
returning the papers, the board has to spend a lot of money, and since we are all international students, it would be way to expensive for the cheapos at edexcel and Cambridge to give the papers.

The_Last_Dragon:
but, to say the truth, we the candidates pay the cash to write these papers, so it means that CIE would not incur any losses, they can just send it direcly to the candidates by normal mail, which is not very expensive
