well, now I can talk about physics paper 6 without breaking any rule (it's been over 24 hs since I sit for it)... the question is how do you measure the thinkness of a lens using two wooden blocks??

I answered that you need to measure the thikness of both wooden blocks, and then place them block-lens-block; the blocks parallel to each other and touching the lens by each side. Then measure the thickenss of all the three things together (block-lens-block) and to this measurement substract the initial thickness of both blocks.

Is this right??
Sorry if the description is not very clear; but I draw a diagram in the exam (that's what the question asked for) .

Thanks!

I dont remember for sure but i remember that when i used it to find the focal length, the focal length was like 11-12 cm.. somthing like that, oh and i remember for sure that the length of the lens was 6.5cm

got 6.5cm for the length
and 0.85 for the thickness
i think i got 15cm for the first focal length
and 11.6? or rather for the second focal length
I swear exams are going to be the end of me someday

exactly same value.just thsecond ocal length was close to 12.

By the way how ws ur graph for the oscillation question coming???

paper 6 was damn easy. we had to plot the graph of T2 to x (cm)

i got the graph as an exact straight line, and thus concluded that they are inversely proportional.
divine intervention!
