I phoned my back bank last week cos I found a 10 month old cheque when I was sorting my papers.
I asked them, "Is there still a six month deadline for paying in cheques?"
She said, "I think there is not any more." Anyway she checked with her supervisor and he said no limit too. I went to my bank and tried to pay it in but they would accept it cos they said there was a 6 month limit. After half an hour discussion, which is putting it lightly, during which they phoned head office. They confirmed the limit. I stormed home and phoned them. I screamed and shouted, "YOU HAVE WASTED MY TIME!!!!!" They traced the original phone call, confirmed I had been told a load of crap, and paid me $20 to shut me up.
You pay these people. Make sure you get satisfaction.
