Linearity of the thermometers, what does it mean??

linearity means that distance between each degree on da scale is the same!!!

a thermocouple consits of 2 wires of 2 different materials joined together, when 1 junction is hotter then the other and electric current flows and produces a reading on a sensitive meter which depends on the temp, difference. they are used in industry, usually measuring -250C to about 1500C
