i would do:

Monica stood in front of a doorman who refused to let her see and slap Sir Fixy......
a thunderclap sounded (which was actually mony slapping the doorman), and the doorman stood in wonder, covering his cheek with one hand, his mouth open, still unablle to grasp the fact that he had been slapped......Monica walked right past him, nose turned up disdainfully....... ;D :D
