oh dam i found the answer i did it wrong the correct answer is

n(n+1)   +  (n+1)(n+2)

  k(2)         K(2)

n square+n   + n square+3n+2

         2                          2

2n square+4n+2

       2

n square + 2n + 1

= (n+1)(n+1)
=(n+1) square

hey even i cldnt get it bt then finally i did wth d subsitution method to prove tht it was (n+1)^2 n ya i gues i can achieve marks by tht method 2 n dam i m worried fr probabaility i messed it up n ya wht is d % ans of tht sphere..... ???

i thought there was some mistake in the "show clearly that the sum is (n+1) squared :S
and for the precentage of the sphere, i got 502%!!!

For the percentage of the sphere i got 4 hundred something. And the nth term is easy. You have to prove that the nth TERM plus the nth+1 TERM = n(NOT TERM)^2. So the 2nd term was 3 and the 3rd term was 6 so   3+6=(2+1)^2
