Looking for samples of Edexcel Unit3 Biology coursework.......
arnab:
I am going to try keep this as short as possible :
I am doing the whole of A-level biology in 1year as a private candidate and i am currently working on my unit 3 & 6. I already set my ideas on what i am going to do my unit 3 & 6 on but i have no idea as to how to start each of them or even on how to structurally set it up, so i can get a good grade on it. And cos i am doing it by my self, i am finding it really hard to get some help.
SOOOO i was wondering, if its possible for any of you to please, please, please, please give me your unit3 or 6 even both? Even if not your coursework, may be some other people's coursework that you have used as your guide??
it could be such a great help for me!!!
Thanks
By the way here is my email address :

Units 3 and 6 for Edexcel Biology are not coursework.. They are just like "alternative to practicals"
I prefer you have a look at the specification (syllabus) for Biology and read the Units 3 and 6 for them. You can have a look at it HERE
I have some resources and I will post them for you.. But just wanted to make this clear.

These units are somehow have the same format since the beginning of the new syllabus.
Unit 3 will have 2 questions
Question 1 will test you on the core practicals listed in the AS Biology Unit 1 + 2 specification (in bold). Question 2 will test your reporting skills
Unit 6 which you might find harder; will have 3 questions
Question 1 tests your knowledge and understanding of the experimental principles and applications of the practical work you have undertaken in Units 1, 2, 4 and 5.
Question 2 will test your data handling skills (statistical tests, graphs..etc)
Question 3 will test your ability to plan a safe scientific investigation
In each paper there is a "scientific article" that is given out before the exam in a good period, you will have to read it, understand it and predict the type of questions they might ask you about it. Usually there are some "predicted" questions that are posted here in the forum so please keep checking every now and then.
While Unit 6 can be found a bit harder. It includes a "scientific article" that is different each year.
1) You can find the Sample assessments Here
These are the papers introduced when the syllabus changed, so these are sample papers you can use them for practice.
2) You can find the Edexcel revision guide Here where it has some useful information about these units.
3) You need to know all the experiments mentioned in the specification. Hence they are found in bold.
AS experiments
A2 experiments- you can find them attached
4) Please solve the previous new past papers.. If you look at the questions they are slightly the same every time
January 2009 to June 2011 can be found Here
January 2012 can be found Here
5) You can find some more useful information as well <a href="studentforums.biz/revison-notes/useful-websites">Here[/url]
6) Some other old past papers can be useful to solve are found on our website www.freeexampapers.com
Good Luck

Some countries have them as coursework paper.

I don't think so, if you read the specification, it doesn't say so. It used to be taken as a coursework when the syllabus was old.
