Self - Teaching Modules D2, S2, S3
« on: January 16, 2011, 09:44:03 pm »
In advance I am sorry for spelling.

Background:
I on Wednesday I will be taking D1 (Edexcle) which I have self teached and from doing pass papers should get an A and M1 (Will be lucky if I pass = E) and done C1 - went great)

This summer I am taking C2,C3,C4,S1. Then in January 2012 I will take FP1, then In June 2012 take FP2, FP3; in 2012 I will need to take atleast 2 applied modules, hopefuly 3 so I don't have to have my M1 grade.

What I would like some advice on
I am thinking about D2, S2 and S3. Has anyone self-teached any of these modules (and what grade did you get compared to other modules). If I don't take S3 then I can be teached S2 for June 2012, if I take S3 will have to self-teach both. Must self teach D2 anyway.

From People who have taken the modules (and possible self teached) how do they compare in Hardness (High Level Maths) and Challeningness (Hard to get head around Ideas and learn formulies for exams)

I teach these and this is what my students say.

Dear Sir,

Can you please advice me on what modules I should take for Edexcel Further Maths,??

I am giving C 1-4, m1, m2 for maths qualification...

I want to do further maths because I like maths and I want to get an edge on engineering programs...

Hi I am doing all these units myself.
I can list all 18 units for you in order of difficluty
c1 fp1 c2 m1 s1 d1 c3 m2 s2 c4 s3 m3 d2 fp2 s4 fp3 m5 m4
This is my opinion though.
If your looking for an edge in engineering, I think you should do fp2 fp3 m3 and accompany it with some of the easier units like s1 s2 fp1.
If your up for the challenge take m4 m5 instead of s1 s2 however you will be learning this in university again anyway
