Alloys are stronger/harder
Can be used in specific proportion to create 'customised' properties :: Alloy of Al(Zn+Mg+cu)-Light weight and strong
Alloy-solder-to lower melting pt.
Brass-easy to shape
Cupro-nickel-Usually cheaper than silver(used as coins)
