What does a blind person see?

(1/3) > >>

NotAbod:
A person is born blind, what does he see? is it black? if so, how could  he tell if it's black, he has never seen black to tell you, "yes it is black"
or white? also if white, how could he confirm it? he has never seen white.

what do you think? Discuss.

Amelia:
Blind people see nothing.

I never met a bind person who said they can see black or white beneath their eyelids.  ::)

Shape. How does a person know that something is round, flat or squared? In early life, kids learn that a square is a square, a circle is a circle, draw that on paper, that's visual recognition. A blind kid would have to tell that a circle is a circle by touching it, he/she cannot see it, yet he/she can draw it on paper too.

Colo(u)r. That's 99,9% visual recognition. Yet, it might be argueable that ppl who never saw the light of day might be able to distinguish colo(u)rs by "sensing" wavelenghts. In physics we learn that different colo(u)rs correspond to different wavelenghts, blind ppl might develop sensitiveness to colo(u)rs by sensing temperature. Althought, by physical definition, blue is "hotter" than "red".

The Golden Girl =D:
There is a a great Arab writer his name is taha hussien ... Taha smthn.

Anyways he wrote the  BEST  Autobiography, usually people can't write about themselves while  being 100% honest but he did and he described things in the MOST beautiful way ever and he is like a Legend in the history of Writing in terms of the Arab writings you see.

And here's comes the most shocking news , they guy's actually blind since the day he was Born.

Anyways I haven't read his autobiography but my Arabic teacher talked about him.

I just wanted to share this amazing Information. According to my understanding of this Story , Blind people don't see colors but they sure can use their imagination and come up with it :D  I think :)
