^ If you wanna explore islam then, I suggest, reading about Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) is the best start
You can read the quran too but if you wanna understand islam then there is no point reading it without the translation

About the rules; yes there are rules but look at how having those rules benefits you as a person

Well, yuh cannot exactly just define God. ::)

God is our Creator.
According to the Qur'an, "No vision can grasp Him, but His grasp is over all vision. God is above all comprehension, yet is acquainted with all things" (Qur'an 6:103).

God responds to those in need or distress whenever they call. Above all, God guides humanity.

We Muslims, believe in One God- Allah.

Islam teaches that God, as referenced in the Qur'an, is the only God and the same God worshipped by members of other Abrahamic religions such as Christianity and Judaism.

without those rules, we wouldnt a good humanbeing!

i suggest you read the stories of the Prophets from the beginning, start with Prophet Adam(AS).
IA, it will benefit you too dasith!

I am not good at explaining things so maybe someone else might tell you better :P

Well, God(Allah) is the creator of this whole universe and everything it has inside, he created us humans and gave us the ability to think, talk, see and what not.
If you do good deeds, He rewards you and there is a punishment if you do a sin but if you repent He accepts your tauba (apology)
He knows everything, the future, the past

There is much more to it, it goes on :P

I had many debates with atheists before. I have facts and evidences to prove that Islam is the right religion. =]

Well, Dasith debating about religion is not allowed in the forum. It's against the rules since this topic is very sensitive. If you have any questions, then I would suggest you pm me or any other person who got good knowledge of Islam. =]
