A very inspiring story... a definite re-read during tough times, for it makes you realize that your difficulties are really very trivial...

This is simply amazing :)
These words really got me thinking
Quote
How many people have not been afflicted with a quarter of Fayiz's problems, and yet they are still unable to overcome their sadness and sorrow!
This is so true, Sometimes when we face very little hardships we get all sad and complain that why is it me?
Yet we forget all the rewards Allah has given us, our hands, the ability to talk , read, write, understand, free from any harmful disease, Our family, friends and countless things.
Instead of complaining we should think about people who are in worse situations than us, we have shelter some people dont, we have food to eat and so many other luxuries and some people dont even have enough food for one time.
And how many times did we thank Allah for all that He has given us, even me? Maybe once in two days  :-[

"Allah Forgive me and Thank you for giving me whatever you have given me"

Thank you for sharing such a beautiful lesson.
And can you give me the details of that book? please
If you are a man who degrades women then allow me to respectfully remind you that you came from ONE

Reminder to myself: Stop worrying and start working

The audience came to him to greet him. I saw him greeting them and it was obvious to me that he treated everyone equally. He greeted everyone and did not distinguish between rich and poor, leaders and followers. I thought to myself that if only all people were like Fayiz!

Funny how we treat people differently according to their positions, wealth, looks, skin color or nationality...if we were all like Fayiz...

If Fayiz can be so successful in life and earn the love of people being blind, mute and deaf, then how about the one who has been blessed with a tongue, sight and hearing?

Look at all of us now? Sitting there and speaking about Fayiz. Isn't he just a legend mashAllah although he misses a lot of stuff. Can't we all be like him? In fact we can even be better than him because Allah gave us more! All we have to do is JUST USE IT and not waste it.

@Abod, well yea it takes us 4-5 hours of chatting, 2 hours to watch a movie, 1-3 hours to listen to songs, another 4 hours hanging out with friends and 8 hours of sleep. How many hours left for Allah? Or shall I ask how many MINUTES do we spend daily reading something about Islam or reading the Quran?

Thank YOU for the +rep! :D
Thank you for reading. InshALLAH you'll be rewarded for it. =]

@Angel, not a night I sleep without thanking Allah for every single thing I have..just make a habit. Do you know the night and morning azkars? Because among them are certain dua's for thanking Allah said like :

Allahumma ma asbaha bee min nia'matin, Wa bi-ahadin min khalqik, Faminka wahdaka la shareeka lak, Falakal-hamdu walakash-shukr
O Allah, what blessing I or any of Your creation have risen upon, is from You alone, without partner, so for You is all praise and unto You all thank

And the reply that I'm going to give you for all what you said above is that we LACK one thing..that's : GRATITUDE. This is unfortunately what most of us don't have and because of that we never get satisfied with our lives yet never be happy.

Thank you for reading sister. I am very glad that this benefited you all as mush as it did to me and inshAllah seeing the responds..I'll be posting more useful and inspiring things.

I'll send you the book to download via pm. =]
Jazki Allah khair for reading once again. <3

When I first read this.. It did touch my heart. But only because I realized how EASY it is to be a great person in this life, yet such a small number of people actually stick with trying to be better people, and are eventually great - most tend to get carried away by worldly desires.

There's a book which I'd recommend everyone to read - although I don't agree with the ideologies the book carries, it definitely has a clear message. The book is called Siddharta, and is very short.

Lesson 2 : Don't kill yourself by grief
« Reply #28 on: June 19, 2011, 03:59:30 pm »
Okay, this time I made it short since the first lesson was very long. =]

I was reading a book called 'Enjoy Your Life' written by the intelligent scholar Dr.Muhammed Al-Arifi and there I learned that we, humans, shouldn't kill ourseleves with grief, for that will not lighten our troubles. How often do you see yourself complaining and others also about problems we have in our lives? Does this make us happier? Does this solve our own problems? No, it doesn't.

Read the following story, Dr.Abdullah had his eldest son went to a wedding party with the entire family in a nearby city, whilest he remained behind in Madinah due to his commitments at the Universaity. On the way back they were involved in a terrible road accident in which they died - all ELEVEN of them!
The Doctor was a righteous man beyond fifty years of age, but nevertheless, a human being with feelings and emotions. He had a heart in his chest, and two weeping eyes and of course a soul that became happy and sad.
When he heard the terrible news, he prayed over them and burried them with his own hands, all eleven of them.
Guests would come to his house and bring coffee along with them, as he didn't have anyone to help him prepare anyhting for them. What is amazing is that if you were to see the man receiving condolences, you would think that he was the one giving condolences, and that the one enduring this tragedy was someone else!

Glory be to the One who gave him patience and made him strong!
He would repeatedly say, "To Allah we belong and to Him we return. It belongs to Allah, whatever He takes or gives. Evertyhing has an appointed time with Allah."

This is the peak of intelligence, for if he did not behave in this manner, he would have died of grief.

Allah swt said : who, when a misfortune confronts them, say: "Surely we belong to Allah and to Him invariably we do return." These are those upon whom are blessings from their Rabb and mercy, and these are themselves the guided.
 Surah Al baqraha verse 156-157

Don't complain, don't be depressed, learn to live your life with what you have available because with gratitude you'd earn satisfaction and always be happy.
To all my beloved sisters and brothers, to all the depressed people who got their lives full of problems and sadness, say this dua because it acts like magic :

It was reported from ‘Abd-Allaah ibn Mas’ood that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “No person suffers any anxiety or grief, and says:

‘Allaahumma innee ‘abduka wa ibn ‘abdika wa ibn amatika, naasiyati bi yadika, maadin fiyya hukmuka, ‘adlun fiyya qadaa’uka, as’aluka bi kulli ismin huwa laka sammayta bihi nafsaka aw anzaltahu fi kitaabika aw ‘allamtahu ahadan min khalqika aw ista’tharta bihi fi ‘ilm il-ghaybi ‘andak an taj’ala al-Qur’aana rabee’ qalbi wa noor sadri wa jalaa’a huzni wa dhahaaba hammi
 http://www.makedua.com/display_dua.php?sectionid=34

Let's start being happy from now! =]
