Maths edexcel board Doubt about the marking.

 Question papers may vary slightly in difficulty from year to year. For example, a mark of 53 in one paper in a January exam session might represent the same level of achievement as a mark of 49 in the following summer exam session.
 
The Uniform Mark Scale (UMS) ensures that these two marks receive the same value when contributing to the final grade. AS and A2 level ‘raw’ marks are converted into UMS marks

Does the UMS scale increase your marks or decrease your actual marks when converting? Also for the A level maths final grade.. Im doing 6 modules... (C1 c2 c3 c4) S1 and M1.. so if someone fails in one of the 6 modules... he will fail in the whole subject? even if he got 100% in everything else? Thats what my teacher said.. and she said they introduced this thing from this year onwards.. can someone clarify if this is true? or out teacher is playing with our nerves?

Well, your teacher is talking utter rubbish.

Even if you fail a module it does not mean you will fail Math as a whole. Your other module's marks contribute to your final grade.
