Might be off topic. but allow me to ask. when applying to ucas, we must apply before 15 Jan right? and even earlier for oxbridge? the problem arises if i take edexcel alevel and my examination is in jan but my results are out in march. wont i miss the deadline? so does that mean i will have to wait for the next application to open to apply? can i use my forecast results instead?
If you are giving your exam on january, when filling your UCAS Apply form, you should enter the subjects you will appear on January 2012 and select "Pending" for their grades. You will have to select the date of qualification too - March, that is. Because your results will be out in March. The universities will understand that you will appear for your A level (or whatever qualification you select), whose results will be out by March.
You will not, therefore, miss the deadline because you haven't taken your exam yet.
For oxbridge the deadline is 15th October.
You cannot enter forecast results in the UCAS Apply. You will have to select pending. However, while filling your references, you can persuade your referee to enter your predicted grades.
