Rotational symmetry help !

Hey !
i almost always get confused when questions related to rotational symmetry are asked ....could anybody explain the concept clearly ?

Rotating of object.... but the rotation should be similar to the last rotation..
Like a rectangle.... its has 2 rotational symmetry
square has 4 because its remains similar...

Well i am ain't a good explainer so i think i will get you somebody to help ya :)

using a tracing paper would help!
draw the shape on a tracing paper
place the tracing paper on the original shape, and start rotating it
and count how many times the shape is exactly the same.
2 for rectangle, the shape will be exactly the same 2 times, 1 after rotating it by 180degrees and one by 360degrees.
