hey everyone ..i hv these questions from the book..
(pg 47)
Q1: A hockey player passes the ball at 15m/s to a team mate who stops it completely at 0.1s.What force does the reciever's stick have to apply to the ball?
Q2:A penality stroke is flicked from a distance of 6.40m from the goal line. The striker scoops it so that the ball leaves the ground at 45degree angle at a speed of 8m/s.How long does the goal keeper has to make a save before the ball crosses the goal line?
1. Is the question complete? I mean, it seems that something is lacking.
Can you please provide the answers as well?
2. So horizontal distance S from goal line = 6.40 m
The speed at 45
o is 8 ms
-1. Now you need to find the horizontal component of the speed which will be (8cos 45) = 5.66 ms
-1.
Speed = distance/time -----> Time taken for ball to reach goal line = 6.4/5.66 =
1.13s
