recomended book for physics and chemistry

hi,
plz recommend me any good for a level physics and chemistry...i am currently using longman advanced physics and some other book but need some better to study for the As exams coming ahead..
so pls mention the author name also

Studying from only one book won't cover up all the syllabus. You can select one of the books, from those that I mentioned in the above post, which you find easy to comprehend as a core book and study it. When you are done with it then consult other books as reference and to cover up the areas that weren't touched in the book you were studying earlier.
