I think it's because MOST children whom I know use the internet for games , some of them even have a Facebook account o.0 ...etc , these children might unknowingly Play a game that has very bad ideas about it which kids are not supposed to be exposed to .
WRONG things and rumors etc can spread as easily as the good things and hence it should be policed .
last but not least ; stalkers and hackers who bring nothing but HARM to this generation should be policed certainly .
I hope this helped.

If I want to play a game on the internet its up to me to decide whether or not its bad for me and whether I should/shouldnt play it. Not you.
The internet like Alpha said is like the real world.... are you gonna stop people gossiping in real life too ? And may I ask what so wrong about having a facebook account ? Besides the time wasting aspect....
Dont disagree with that last one..... but once again it doesnt call for major policing. In the UK they have a convicted child offenders list available to the public.

I think it all comes down to our own personal definitions of right and wrong. Yes, the internet does have a lot of negative influences ; porn, stalking, hacking, you name it. These are black and white areas...
but when we move to the gray where opinions differ, like Facebook for example, some people hate the concept whereas others live on it…in these gray areas wouldn’t policing bring about infringement of personal rights and freedom?
We are our own police. God gave us a sense of what’s right and what’s wrong, and as humans we should be able to follow that. And if you’re a parent, I think it’s just your duty to protect your child from harmful influences ( vast amount of software available for this). So no…NO INTERNET POLICING!!

Just dont impose your desires on me/everyone else.

Then, why do we have courts, armies and the police force in real life?
I would say censoring is a form of policing.

You have a point definitely, but policing the internet will bring about lot of questions with no answers? What's right? What's wrong? Who makes the decisions? Maybe policing of the black and white regions can be accepted (refer to my previous posts) but what about the gray?
P.S Alpha :P is my english better? LOL I'm too used to texting girl, n IMs...I'm making an effort here!! :P :D

Just like we determine the wrongs and the rights in reality.
And about the grey, like FB, if the sites cannot be policed, the activities and contents can.
P.S. Yeah, I recognized the SMS broken English. It's a wonderful attempt. Well done. :) +rep
