Should the internet be policed?Why?

In many cities around the world there are security cameras here and there, could the internet have "security cameras" as well? Maybe... but in this case the cameras would be traffic loggers. But then comes another issue: a security camera placed on a high traffic street monitors the street, not inside the buildings. How a traffic logger would check for what's "inside" and what's not?

You cant police the internet. Even the US govt cant arrest the admin of wikileaks or disable the website. Anyone who wants to do anything illegal can use the tor network, and even most browsers now come with 'inprivate' features to leave no traces on your pc. The internet is becoming what it was meant to be - somewhere where people can say what they want without consequences.

I don't think it should be policed.
Other people may have contradictory perceptions/opinions about certain sentimental things. Our attitude should be as to accept that contradictory beliefs do exist, rather than blocking it (as in the case of policing the internet).
Example: Pornography. Some people say such stuffs are harmful to people. Some argue why should consenting adults not be allowed to look at something they want? For me, I tend to agree with the former group. But this doesn't mean I would like to have all pornographic websites banned completely.
