physics help
« on: May 08, 2009, 03:32:14 pm »
hey, so I was wondering if anyone had any good resources or notes that explain Energy transformations and such. Or can anyone please explain them for me? There are a lot of questions that ask what happens when an object hits the ground, or what energy changes take place when that happens.

Thank you :)

According to the principle of conservation of energy, energy can neither be created nor destroyed. It can only be transformed from one form to another. For example a car transforms the chemical energy in fuel to mechanical(kinetic) energy as it moves and some of the energy is lost as heat energy due to friction etc. Usually, questions in exams involve conversion of kinetic energy to gravitational energy and vice versa. If a ball falls from a height it's gravitational potential energy is converted to kinetic energy and so on.

(the American ANSI#Y 32.14 symbols will
be used)

Digital signal - signal simply switches on and off with no inbetween
analogue - smooth and continously variable

Digital comes from digit implying a display in the form of numeric digits like 12:15 while analogue means display using non-digital forms like non-digital stopwatches.

For a better definition check this out

For logic gate symbols:

Hope this helps.
