IGCSE Maths Pass Mark
(1/1)
monkeychild:
Hi,
For the CIE core paper, is the pass mark 70% overall???
Cheers
elemis:
No it changes it year, there isnt a set percentage. Rather CIE uses a percentile system. Percentile and percentage are different ;)
monkeychild:
Hmmm very mysterious ??? Why don't they make it straightforward??? :D

CIE uses a percentile system. It makes a cumulative frequency graph of all marks in a particular subject. Next it determines the 90th percentile. Anything in this 90th percentile is an A*.
I dont know the equivalent percentile for a pass mark but I think it should be the 50th.

Look at the thresholds........for CIE core maths....to get a G grade, which is a pass....ull need like 25%
If u consider a C as pass....then ull need AT Least 98/160 which is 62% roughly
