I will like to know about the difference between merge and field codes. Also what do the question mean when they ask to show the field codes like in oct/nov 2008, paper 4, question 13; line "Save this source document showing the merge and field codes as LABELMAIN in a format that keeps the merge code information."

Oh, what do they mean by in a format that keeps the merge code information and how do I do it?
