I had no problem with p42. Sorry for the confusion dude :(

So it's June 2010 p43 No 7(iii)

I figured out the second part......... ;)

And you know the limiting friction is 3150 N

P-3150= 450a

P=4050N

Ooh........ I did not interpret it like this........I guess that's why I was having problems.
It's much simpler from your point of view :)

Anyway thanks loads for your help..........I badly needed to know how to do this since am pretty sure there will be a similar number in Nov 2010 p4 this Monday.
