You found out the maximum acceleration for the blocks to move together as 2m/s^2

And you know the limiting friction is 3150 N

P-3150= 450a

P=4050N

It's much simpler from your point of view :)

Anyway thanks loads for your help..........I badly needed to know how to do this since am pretty sure there will be a similar number in Nov 2010 p4 this Monday.
