hey guyz..these are the equations we may need to use in igcse cz i gt this frm a site which stated that....here they are u may copy them ina notepad or microsoft wrd..>>>>

Electricity

P = V x I.     Power = Voltage x Current.

V = I x R.    Voltage = Current x Resistance.

Q = I x t.    Charge = Current x time.

E = V x Q.    Energy = Voltage x Charge.

Transformer Equation

Total Cost = Number of Units x Cost per Unit.

Energy

Efficiency (%) = (useful energy out ÷ total energy in) x 100.

GPE = mgh.      GPE = mass x gravity x height.

KE  =  ½mv2.     Kinetic Energy = 0·5 x mass x velocity2.

W = F x d.      Work done = Force x distance.

W = E.     Work done = Energy transferred.

P = E ÷ t.              Power = Energy ÷ time.

Forces and Motion

s = d ÷ t.     speed = distance ÷ time.

a = (v-u) ÷ t.     acceleration = change in velocity ÷ time.

F = m x a.          Force = mass x acceleration.

w = m x g.                weight = mass x gravity.

m = F x d.    moment = Force x perpendicular distance from pivot.

p = F ÷ a.                 pressure = Force ÷ area.

d = m ÷ v.               density = mass ÷ volume.

Waves

v = f x l.     velocity  =  frequency  x  wavelength.
ur appetence makes me sik!!!!! live with sanity and die with dignity!!

Below are ALL the physics equations u need to know for the IGCSE physics exam (according to my physics teacher)

Year 9

1. Speed = Distance / Time
2. Velocity = Displacement / Time
3. Density = Mass / Volume
4. Weight = Mass x Gravity
5. Work = Force x Distance
6. Volume of a regular solid = Length x Width x Height
7. Volume of a irregular solid using a measuring cylinder = V2 - V1
8. Power = Work / Time
9. Pressure = Force / Area
10. Pressure under a liquid = Density x Gravity x Depth
11. Boyle's Law: Pressure of a gas. P1V1 = P2V2
12. Energy = Mass x Specific Heat Capacity x Change in temperature
13. Energy = Mass x Latent Heat
14. Kinetic energy = 1/2 x mass x velocity squared
16. The law of reflection: Angle of incidence = angle of reflection (i=r)
17. Refractive index (n): n = Sin i / Sin r (Snell's law)
18. n = Cv / Cm   Cv = speed of light in air, vacuum. Cm = speed of light in the medium (glass).
19. n = 1 / Sin C   C = critical angle
20. Velocity = frequency x wavelength

Year 10

21. Charge = Current x Time
22. Charge = number of electrons x charge of an electron
23. Adding resistors in series: R = R1 + R2 + R3
24. Adding resistors in parallel: 1/R = 1/R1 + 1/R2 + 1/R3
25. Ohm's Law: voltage = current x resistance
26. Power = current x voltage
27. Electrical energy = current x time x voltage
28. Transformers: Vp / Vs = Np / Ns   p = primary, s = secondary
29. Transformers: Ip x Vp = Is x Vs
30. Acceleration: acceleration = change in velocity / time
31. Moments: moment = force x distance
32. Newton's 2nd law: force = mass x acceleration
33. Hooke's law: force = mass x extension

And thats it, 33 equations ONLY  :o

Hope i helped, and good luck in ur exams  ;)

What is 1/sinC ?????????????

plzzz help me with this and definition of hooke's law ??

What is 1/sinC ?????????????

plzzz help me with this and definition of hooke's law ??

Refractive Index = 1 / Sine (Critical Angle)

Hooke's Law: A material obeys Hooke's law if, beneath its elastic limit, the extension is proportional to the load.
Equation: Force = mass x extension

hope this helps  :)

Hey um what about the U V A S T equations ?
The ones related to free fall ?
We dont need to memorise those ?

hey,

sorry but, ive never heard of these  :-[

thanks

:O these are important!!!

Here are they:

v=u+at

v2(squared)=u2(squared)+2as

s=1/2(u+v)*t

s=ut+1/2at2(squared)

HERE IS WHAT THEY STAND FOR:
V=FINAL VELOCITY (m/s)
U=INITIAL VELOCITY (m/s)
S=DISPLACEMENT(m)
A=ACCELERATION(m/s2(squared))
T=TIME (s)

HOPE THAT HELPS
GOOD LUCK :)

AND ALSO..A=V-U
                   ----
                     T

ITS TO FIND THE ACCELERATION OF AN OBJECT..I KNOW ITS SIMPLE AND OBVIOUSLY KNOWN BUT NOT TO MISS OUT ;)
