The A* grade

I think I wasn't clear...I mean, even if I do not have 90% in my A2 components, but the overall percentage is 180% and above, I win (an A*)?

Yes, you do. If you are taking the A Levels. Yes. They count all.

Edexcel, I don't know... Just CIE. ;)

CIE is harder than Edexcel but this does not change grades.
Because the grades depend on curves. And, because of that the same % of Edexcel and CIE will get A*s....
CIE is harder, the subjects are tougher. But, this does not affect the actual grades.
